Former Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt has taken to social media on Thursday evening, to send a message of encouragement to fellow countryman Cody Gakpo.
The name of attacker Gakpo has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across the week to date.
This comes after the Dutchman, long tipped for a move to Manchester United, was instead snapped up by another of England’s heavyweight clubs.
In something of a bolt from the blue, it was confirmed on Tuesday evening that the transfer team at Anfield had struck a deal with their counterparts at PSV Eindhoven, to bring the in-demand Gakpo to Merseyside with following the turn of the year.
The Dutch international, in turn, could be afforded his debut in Liverpool colours as soon as Monday, in a Premier League meeting with Brentford.
And one individual, as alluded to above, wishing Gakpo well over his time to come on Merseyside comes in the form of Dirk Kuyt.
Cody Gakpo, welcome to @LFC. This number has brought me lots of magic, and I hope it will bring you the same kinda magic too. Congratulations and good luck. #LFC #LiverpoolFC pic.twitter.com/GwzF42Izbm
