Edin Terzic says it is time for Real Madrid’s stranglehold on the Champions League to be broken, and he wants his Borussia Dortmund side to do it.
Madrid have won five of the last 10 titles, haven’t lost in their last eight Champions League Finals and are seeking a 15th win overall.
Dortmund, by contrast, have only lifted the trophy once, 27 years ago, and lost on their most recent final appearance against Bayern Munich, which also came at Wembley Stadium in 2013.

Terzic told Dortmund’s final press conference in Germany before Saturday’s final in London they need to travel with confidence that they can cause a shock.
“We have to have the belief that we can achieve big things,” he said. “We have to invest everything to bring the trophy back to Dortmund. It has been far too long. We haven’t gotten as close as we are now for a long time.”
Madrid are firm favourites with the bookmakers but Terzic insisted: “Our objective is to win the Champions League and to do that you have to beat the champions – the absolute champion historically awaits us.
“(Real Madrid) have had this experience 14 times, won it five times in the past 10 years. But anything is possible in one match.
“If anyone has shown that you can achieve a lot in one game it has been us, especially this season in this competition. Our aim is always to break it down to one game.
“Eight Champions League finals and they never lost, but what’s important is not what happened in the previous eight, what’s important is the next one and we’re responsible for that. It is time to break that run.”
