- Manchester City can afford no slip-ups at Tottenham – Guardiola
Manchester City travelled to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday. They did their job and won 2-0 to strengthen their grip on the Premier League title and keep Arsenal at bay. However, one slip-up came in the form of an injury to starting goalkeeper Ederson. The keeper collided with Romero, resulting in a fractured eye socket for the Brazillian. Pep Guardiola made the decision to substitute the goalkeeper and bring on their backup keeper, Stefan Ortega.

What Happened Next?
Following a Haaland opener, the match was poised at 1-0 to City. The substitution was made, and Ortega entered the action. Moments later, the Tottenham Hotspur captain, Son, went through on goal and was one-on-one with the fresh keeper. Son charged through to the goal and finally took his shot. This shot was spectacularly saved by Stefan Ortega in what proved to be a match-defining moment. This kept the match at 1-0 to City, and Haaland went on to score from the penalty spot to put the game to bed.
The Brazillian goalkeeper did not take the substitution well, though. As he was walking off the pitch, he had a verbal disagreement with his manager, clearly out of frustration. Once this confrontation was over, the Brazillian showed visible frustration as he kicked over a cooler on the Man City bench.
Guardiola’s Hilarious Reaction
As Tottenham captain, Son Heung-Min, ran through on goal, putting himself one-on-one with Stefan Ortega, Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, realised what was happening and fell backwards in disbelief! Once he had realised his substitute goalkeeper had saved the day, Pep composed himself and got back up.
