A long-time member of the first-team setup at Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur has, on Saturday, confirmed his intention to depart the club this summer.
The Lilywhites star in question? Hugo Lloris.
Shot-stopper Lloris, of course, has been on the books of Spurs for over a decade now.
Once considered one of world football’s finest between the posts, however, recent seasons have seen the World Cup winner come under increasing scrutiny.
Rumours pointing towards a potential exit, as a result, have long begun to mount.
In turn, it should not come as a massive surprise, on Saturday, to hear of Tottenham’s long-time no.1 announcing his intention to seek out a new adventure.
“It’s the end of an era. I have a desire for something else. I will carefully study what is possible. I haven’t forgotten that I’ve a year left on my contract at Spurs.”
It now remains to be seen whether the plans of the powers that be at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium align with those of their first-choice goalkeeper.
