Ange Postecoglou has played down speculation linking him with the vacant England manager’s position.
A report in The Telegraph on Wednesday revealed Postecoglou was on the FA’s shortlist to replace Gareth Southgate, who stepped down on Tuesday.
FA chiefs are reportedly long-term admirers of the Australian’s work in charge of Spurs as well as his time in charge of his country, in Japan and at Celtic.
But speaking after Spurs’ 5-1 pre-season win over Hearts, the 58-year-old suggested he has no plans to jump ship after one season in North London.
Asked about the speculation, Postecoglou said: “Mate, I’m in the start of pre-season.
“I’m the Tottenham manager, I have nothing else but trying to bring success to this football club. Until I do that, there is no point in me thinking about anything else.
“I had a nap this afternoon, so I have no idea what’s going on.”

Postecoglou has international experience after taking charge of Australia between 2013 and 2017, which includes guiding the Socceroos to the 2014 World Cup and glory at the 2015 Asian Cup.
He added: I enjoyed my time [as Australia manager]. We had four great years, we won the Asian Cup, qualified for a World Cup.
“With all these things there’s a natural end, but who doesn’t love coaching their country.
“In the future, who knows? Five years ago I was in Japan and now I’m in the Premier League.”
