Manchester United face Brentford in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.

Manchester United head into the Brentford game looking to bounce back from a majorly embarrassing defeat in gameweek 1.

Ten Hag’s side faced off with Brighton and fell to a 2-1 defeat. This was the first time Brighton have ever beaten United at Old Trafford.

United have also not signed any new players since that defeat, so the Dutchman will have to work his magic with the current crop of players, a number of which looked awful vs Brighton.

Ahead of the tie, Ten Hag has been discussing Cristiano Ronaldo. With Anthony Martial still injured, Ronaldo is United’s only natural striker at present, meaning he is likely to start vs the Bees.

However, Ronaldo has made it clear that he wanted to leave Old Trafford this summer for Champions League football.

When Erik ten Hag was whether it would be prudent to start a player who wants out [Ronaldo], Ten Hag replied: “That is your assumption. That is not what he is telling me.

“So I deal with the players we have and we plan with him for this season and we are happy with him and we have to fit him into the team. So he has to come at the right fitness levels so that he can do the job that we expect him to do.

“In every press conference, we already confirmed that he is in our plans. We plan with him so we also plan around him.”
