Jude Bellingham has admitted he was “absolutely dead” during England’s 0-0 draw with Slovenia at Euro 2024.

The Three Lions topped Group C with the stalemate but put in another under underwhelming display, prompting plenty of critcism.

Bellingham dazzled audiences with his display in the first game against Serbia but has struggled to have the same impact in the two games since, with concerns raised that the Real Madrid midfielder is suffering from fatigue after a long season.

And he has admitted that tiredness played a part last time out, saying: “In the last game I was absolutely dead but you hear them [supporters] singing and chanting.

“There’s a lot of negativity outside the stadium and the camp and I think it’s important that we remember fans in the stadium are the ones that are going to give us the energy.

“So don’t worry about the ones who aren’t there. We’ve got to keep using that energy and feeling we get from them.”

Bellingham made 42 appearances for Real last term, scoring 23 goals as he lifted LaLiga and the Champions League in his maiden campaign.

If England make the final, Bellingham will be set for another four games in the heart of England’s side.

He played 86 minutes in a goalscoring display in the first game versus Serbia, before being left on for 90 minutes against Denmark and Slovenia.

England face Slovakia in the last 16 in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday at 5pm UK time.
