England have sealed their progress to the last-16 of Euro 2024 without even kicking a ball.

Spain’s win over Albania in Group B in Dusseldorf on Monday evening ensured England will progress to the knock-out stage regardless of the outcome of their final Group C game against Slovenia in Cologne on Tuesday night.

England’s four-point haul from their opening two group games against Serbia and Denmark mean they are assured of finishing as one of the four best third-place finishers in the group phase, nomatter what happens tomorrow.

England could actually come to the aid of their World Cup 2018 semi-final conquerors Croatia.

Italy’s late equaliser ensured they qualify as runners-up to Spain in Group B, with Croatia finishing third with two points and a goal difference of minus two.

Should England beat Slovenia by three goals and Denmark overcome Serbia and then both Georgia and Czech Republic lose their final Group F games against Portugal and Turkey then Croatia would sneak through to the last 16.
