Phil Foden is set to return to England’s Euro 2024 camp in Germany on Thursday following the birth of his third child.
The Manchester City midfielder left the Three Lions’ base on Wednesday for what the FA described as a “pressing family matter”.
And now the BBC say the 37-cap international will join back up with the group on Thursday ahead of the knockout phase.
Foden, 24, started all three of England’s group games and is set to be available to Gareth Southgate for Sunday’s last-16 clash against Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen.
England topped Group C with a win and two draws but have faced criticism for their lacklustre displays so far.
The players and manager Southgate were booed by supporters after a 0-0 draw with Slovenia on Tuesday and the Three Lions boss has acted quick to shoulder the blame.

Asked if the criticism was aimed at him, Southgate said: “100 per cent. That is my job. I have to keep the players right on track.
“On the day of the game I showed them pictures of Italy celebrating their qualification with their fans, of Hungary celebrating when they didn’t even know if they were through.
“Denmark celebrating a draw against us, and they were on two points. Our world is different at the moment and I feel that is probably because of me.
“I have to help the players as much as I possibly can because we brought the joy back into playing for England and we have to be very careful of where we head with it.”
