Scotland midfielder John McGinn says his side are going to “prove people wrong” when they face Hungary at Euro 2024.
The Tartan Army must beat their Group A opponents on Sunday night if they are to progress to the knockout stages after only picking up one point from their opening two games.
Steve Clarke’s men were embarrassed by hosts Germany in the curtain-raiser, losing 5-1.
They then took the lead against Switzerland, before handing them a goal and drawing 1-1.
Now, their fate hangs in the balance but Aston Villa star McGinn believes Scotland can make history.
He said: “We’ve had a lot of injuries along the way – but us Scots are best at enduring adversity.
“Hopefully we can prove a lot of people wrong.
🗣️ ‘I hope young Tamas is sad tomorrow night’ 🤣

“We have players who’ve been involved in high-pressure matches, but we’re not feeling pressure, we feel anticipation about being that team who changes things for Scottish football.
“I don’t think a lot of people across Europe thought we could do it, so we want to be the ones who do.
“We all know the magnitude of the occasion. We have the chance to write our name into the history books.”
There is a small chance that drawing with Hungary would put Scotland through, but it is very unlikely.
Spain and Italy would both have to win their final games in Group B – against Albania and Croatia respectively.
Denmark would have to overcome Serbia while England would need to beat Slovenia by four goals in Group C.
Portugal and Turkey would need closing victories in Group F over Georgia and the Czech Republic respectively.
The Tartan Army will have to do it without full-back Kieran Tierney, who has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament through injury.
