Two of Europe’s most in-form sides go head to head at San Siro in the Champions League last 16 as Porto travel to take on Inter Milan on Wednesday.
Porto have won their last nine games and currently sit second in the Portuguese top flight, five points behind the impressive Benfica. They have not lost since October and represent a major threat to just about every side in the competition, something that Inter would be unwise to take lightly.
For their part, the Nerazzuri sit second in Serie A, though a massive 15 points behind runaway leaders Napoli, and have only tasted defeat on one occasion since the first week of November. Coming through a tricky group stage that also included Bayern Munich and Barcelona, they will be confident that they can go a long way in this season’s Champions League.
They hold a narrow edge on the head to head with their Portuguese opponents, though they have not met since the 2005/06 season. In the four meetings between the sides, the Italians have won two and drawn one, losing just once in an impressive record that they will be keen to extend in the coming weeks, beginning with the clash at San Siro on Wednesday.
Read on for how we expect Porto to line up, and the latest team news ahead of the clash.
