Match report
Premier League giants Manchester United got the club’s European campaign firmly back on track on Thursday evening, courtesy of a routine downing of FC Sheriff.
Erik ten Hag’s troops were back in action a short time ago.
After slipping to defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad in their Europa League season opener, the Red Devils tonight made the trip to Moldova, aware that nothing but a victory would suffice up against FC Sheriff.
And, when all was said and done, secure all three points is precisely what United went on to do.
The evening’s scoring was opened inside 20 minutes, when Jadon Sancho kept alive a fine recent stretch of form courtesy of a clever turn and finish inside the hosts’ penalty area:

This was then followed shortly before the interval by Cristiano Ronaldo’s first goal of the season, to put the visitors all but out of sight at the Zimbru Stadium.
