Liverpool travel to west London today as they take on Fulham in their Premier League opener.

New signing Darwin Núñez will be part of the squad and he will be hoping for another goal after scoring against Manchester City.

The Reds will be hoping for a strong start to the season as they look to take the Premier League title from City.

Roberto Firmino is likely to feature up front ahead of Darwin Núñez, according to the Times.

The Reds’ new £85 million signing also started on the bench in the Community Shield.

Jürgen Klopp of course has the luxury of having the options to slowly integrate the Uruguayan into the team.

However, Ibrahima Konaté, Curtis Jones and Kostas Tsimikas all remain sidelined.

Klopp comments on the possibility of new signings

Jürgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool are not going to dip back into the transfer market despite their injuries.

The German manager did not rule out further signings, but his comments suggest the Merseyside club are unlikely to bring in new recruits.

Klopp said:

“We have too many injuries, that’s true, but at the moment nothing has changed.

“We can’t solve problems we have with a transfer.

“At the moment it makes no sense to us. But the transfer window is still open and we will see.”
