Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has, on Thursday evening, provided a fresh insight into his future.
The name of Dutch international De Jong, of course, took its place front and centre in the headlines throughout last summer’s transfer window.
This came as the 25-year-old was hotly tipped for a Camp Nou departure, amid both Barcelona’s widely-publicised financial struggles, and intense interest in his services on the part of Premier League giants Manchester United.
In the end, De Jong ultimately stayed put, after making clear time and time again his desire to succeed long-term in Catalunya.

And yet, despite as much, speculation surrounding a potential move to Manchester for the former Ajax standout upon the close of the campaign has continued to swirl in the media.
During an interview with RAC1 on Thursday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his future beyond the summer, once more, was put to De Jong.
“I’m very calm here, very happy at Barça. I want to stay at Barcelona for many more years.”
