Todd Boehly has now been the owner of Chelsea for three transfer windows.
During that time the club have spent over £1b on players but it is fair to say the results are not matching up to the spending.
Chelsea finished 12th in the Premier League last season and despite a new manager and more spending this summer, they have already lost to West Ham and Nottingham Forest in their opening four games of the PL campaign.
Now, Gary Cahill has offered some transfer advice to Chelsea, urging the Blues to build a core and only add a few new players to it:
“When you’re in transition and the team’s evolving and changing, when we were successful here we had the core of the team and then we added one or two players to that and that’s a lot easier to adapt those players into the system and the football club,” he said.
“When you have so many changes, it does take time. The ability is there, first and foremost, but it takes time to learn this league and get experience. You get experience good and bad, football’s not all roses.
