Chelsea are considering a big-money swoop for a key member of the midfield setup at Brighton & Hove Albion, according to reports.
The player in question? Moises Caicedo.
It is of course common knowledge that the powers that be at Stamford Bridge are on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park ahead of the January transfer window.
This comes ahead of the imminent expiration of the contracts of both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.
To this point, the midfielder most widely tipped to take his talents to west London following the turn of the year comes in the form of Benfica standout and World Cup breakthrough star Enzo Fernandez.
And though such interest is understood to remain intact, the Blues are now eyeing a 2nd potential addition, too.
Any such transfer, of course, would see the Ecuadorian talent reunited with former boss Graham Potter.
Caicedo, though, will not come cheap, with Brighton understood to be demanding a fee in the region of £70-£75 million to part with the club’s crown jewel.
Moisés Caicedo to Chelsea is one to watch. There is a real sense, from multiple sources, #CFC may move. Graham Potter when still at Brighton joked £42m would only “get his boots”. #BHAFC want around £70-£75m. pic.twitter.com/UKHJAD48dh
