Chelsea head coach Graham Potter has, on Friday, provided an insight into the future of on-loan Blues striker Romelu Lukaku.
The name of hitman Lukaku, of course, took its place front and centre in the football headlines once more ahead of the current campaign.
This came as the powers that be at Chelsea, just a year on from splashing out a club record fee on his signature, agreed to allow their Belgian international star to depart on loan.
Owing to a disappointing haul of just eight Premier League goals, it was decided that the Blues’ frontline would be best spearheaded by an alternative option, opening the door for former Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to seal a move back to London.

Lukaku, though, has since endured an equally underwhelming stint back in Serie A.
Owing to a combination of fitness issues and simple lack of form, the 29-year-old has managed a paltry three league goals, across 15 total appearances.
Speaking to the media on Friday, the aforementioned Graham Potter was therefore drawn on the prospect of ‘Big Rom’ taking his place back in the first-team setup at Stamford Bridge next season.
And Chelsea’s boss refused to rule out the possibility of as much, albeit whilst urging the struggling frontman to ‘finish the season well’ in Italy:
“At the moment he is on loan at another club and it is important he finishes that off, finishes the season well and then we will have a decision to make in the summer.
“He is someone I admire a lot and like a lot. But again it is something we have to talk about in the summer.”
