Chelsea head coach Graham Potter was, on Sunday night, drawn on the mounting speculation surrounding the club’s swoop for Benoit Badiashile.
The day, to date, has of course seen the name of defender Badiashile take its place front and centre in the English media headlines.
This comes after reports surfaced – by way of a number of reliable sources – that Chelsea had sealed an agreement with AS Monaco to bring the 21-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
Badiashile, it is understood, is set to make the move to west London as part of a €37/38 million deal.

Speaking to the media late on Sunday evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the alleged incoming reinforcements to his backline was put to Graham Potter.
This, of course, comes after Chelsea stuttered to yet another disappointing result, in the form of a 1-1 stalemate with relegation-battling Nottingham Forest.
“Until somebody tells me anybody has been signed, it would be unfair of me to comment.”
