Chelsea head coach Graham Potter has, on Friday, provided a fresh insight into the future of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The subject of Aubameyang’s situation in west London, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines at Stamford Bridge once more across the week to date.
This comes amid widespread reports that the former Arsenal and Barcelona hitman, just six months on from his arrival, is on the verge of bringing his Blues stint to a close.
After being omitted from boss Potter’s squad for the knockout stages of the Champions League, Aubameyang is understood to be seeking out an immediate resolution, left ‘shocked and frustrated’ by the actions of the powers that be at the club.
Step forth, LAFC.
Learning of the opportunity to potentially take ‘Auba’ on loan ahead of the new season kicking into gear later this month, MLS champions LAFC entered into negotiations with Chelsea over a short-term deal early this week.
The Englishman, though, was keen to play the chances of an imminent departure down, in explaining:
“No, nothing to report on Aubameyang [loan move to LAFC]. No update.
“Pierre has been training with us and has conducted himself well.”
