The player in question is Emile Smith Rowe.

At the start of Mikel Arteta’s reign, Smith Rowe was brought in and played a crucial role in helping turn Arsenal’s fortunes around in 2020/21.

However, this past season saw the 22-year-old notch just 161 minutes of league action across 12 outings.

However, following the end of the Premier League campaign, ESR has been doing everything in his power to find his way back into the Arsenal XI.

As per football.london, instead of taking time off at the end of the season in May, Smith Rowe headed out to Dubai for a week-long training session with coach Sean O’Shea.

The midfielder then took part in the under-21 European Championships with England, where he played a key role in the Three Lions winning the tournament.

Such dedication over the summer break is sure to have caught the eye of Mikel Arteta, with Smith Rowe’s fitness likely to be better than many of his teammates as pre-season gets underway.
