New Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglu is ready to oversee a major change in north London, with seven or more first team players free to leave this summer, according to reports.

The Lilywhites are finally on the brink of ending their long search for a new permanent boss with the impending arrival of Celtic boss Postecoglu, fresh off the back of a treble with the Scottish side.

Without European football to offer in north London, it remains unclear what calibre of player the Lilywhites will be able to attract under their new boss, but he is wasting no time in reducing the deadwood at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

According to the Telegraph, Postecoglu is ready to wave goodbye to seven or more players this summer, beginning with club captain Hugo Lloris, who has already confirmed that he will leave the club.

Added to that, defensive duo Ryan Sessegnon and Davinson Sanchez could leave the club, while the club are open to offers for either Eric Dier or Ben Davies and the futures of Joe Rodon and Djed Spence (both out on loan) are unclear.

The club will not be activating the option to buy Arnaut Danjuma after an unsuccessful loan spell, while Clement Lenglet may also return to Barcelona with uncertainty as to whether he will be a good fit for the incoming coach.

Tottenham retain a longstanding interest in James Maddison, and could look to land the midfielder this summer, though they face competition from Newcastle United for his services.

They will also be in the market for additions across the pitch, with another goalkeeper, a centre-back and a central midfielder on the club’s wishlist.
