An update on the wellbeing of Manchester City star Jack Grealish has been provided on Saturday evening.
This comes, for those who may have missed it, after the attacker was forced to sit out City’s Premier League meeting with Fulham earlier in the day.
Pep Guardiola’s troops, for their part, did not skip a beat, ultimately putting five past Fulham to maintain their spot atop the English top-flight table.
But Grealish’s absence, described before the clash as coming owing to an unspecified injury, would have come as a source of concern for England boss Gareth Southgate.
The former Aston Villa standout was afforded a call-up to the latest Three Lions squad this week, ahead of an upcoming pair of meetings with Ukraine and Scotland.
He is therefore now viewed as a major doubt to be at the disposal of boss Southgate.
And Lillo first went on to reveal that the 27-year-old has picked up a thigh problem.
From here, the Spaniard admitted that it will be ‘difficult’ for Grealish to return to fitness in time for England’s upcoming fixtures, albeit with the situation ‘difficult for me to explain’.
Juanma Lillo confirms Jack Grealish unlikely to be fit for England. Missed today’s game with a thigh injury. “Difficult for Jack to make it for the national team call up. I am not a doctor and it will be difficult for me to explain.”
