Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest have, on Friday, confirmed the release of no fewer than six members of the club’s first-team squad.

The headline departure, without question, comes in the form of Jesse Lingard.

Midfielder Lingard, of course, made the move to the City Ground last summer, on the back of the expiration of his contract at Manchester United.

12 league starts, and not a single goal contribution later, however, the 30-year-old will now be on the move once more.

Joining Lingard in calling time on his spell with Forest, meanwhile, will be all of Andrew Ayew, Jack Colback, Cafu, Jordan Smith and Lyle Taylor.

Elsewhere, academy talents Billy Fewster, Alex Gibson-Hammond, Ryan Hammond, Nicky Hogarth, Adnan Kanurić and Lewis Salmon have all been released, too.

As per an official statement across the club’s social media platforms:

‘Nottingham Forest is pleased to confirm that Serge Aurier has triggered an automatic one-year extension in his contract.’
