Jonny Evans has signed a new one-year deal at Manchester United, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2025.

The 36-year-old made 30 appearances for the Red Devils last season, mainly covering for injuries to Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire.

Evans has a long history at United, coming through the academy before moving to West Brom and then Leicester.

And he remains loved in his second stint at Carrington and will be another experienced head in the dressing room in 2024-25.

After signing the deal, he said: “I am delighted to have extended my contract at Manchester United for another season.

“To play for this great club and feel the support from our incredible fans is always a privilege.

“Returning to the club last season was an honour; representing the team on the pitch alongside fantastic team-mates under an excellent manager.

“Winning the FA Cup together was an unforgettable experience; I know we can challenge for more trophies in the season ahead.”

United will embark on their pre-season tour next week, starting in Norway and ending in the United States.

They will face fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool.

The FA Cup holders will then return to Manchester for the new campaign, where Erik ten Hag – who signed a new one-year deal as well recently – will be looking to hit the ground running.
