Across a summer transfer window that may see French superstar Kylian Mbappé depart Paris Saint-Germain, Premier League giants Liverpool have recently been linked with the 24-year-old marquee striker, much to the surprise of Reds boss Jürgen Klopp.
The undeniable face of French football has been linked with a number of possible solutions this summer after his refusal to agree to a contract extension PSG while also turning down a mammoth offer from Saudi Arabia, with recent rumors suggesting that both Liverpool and Chelsea could be linked with a shock loan agreement to acquire his services for the 2023-24 season.
But for Klopp, such rumors are well wide of the mark.
Klopp: “Mbappé and Liverpool links? We laugh about it! I can say that I think he’s a really good player, but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all” 🔴🇫🇷
“That would be 1st time in 8 years that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me!”. pic.twitter.com/t4RkebkucP

“Mbappé to Liverpool links? We laugh about it!” Klopp remarked. “I can say that I think he’s a really good player, but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all. That would be the first time in eight years that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me!”
Liverpool, however, have certainly been active this summer in the market in line with Klopp’s need to retool his senior setup after losing multiple influential instruments in the wake of Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho having joined the exodus to the Roshn Saudi Leage, while Naby Keïta, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all departing the club in various capacities.
So far, the Reds have brought in key Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai as well as Alexis Mac Allister in a bid to restructure the center of the park, while also remaining linked with interest in Belgian starlet Roméo Lavia.
