Jude Bellingham has been named La Liga player of the season after a wonderful first year at Real Madrid.
The 20-year-old played a leading role as Carlo Ancelotti’s men claimed their 36th league title, scoring 19 goals and adding six assists in the top flight as Madrid finished 10 points ahead of Barcelona.
The award is voted for by fans, club captains and a panel of experts and they opted for Bellingham ahead of the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, Madrid winger Vinicius Jnr, Girona striker Artem Dovbyk and Barca’s Robert Lewandowski.
“I would like to dedicate it to my team mates, the coaching staff and, most importantly, to the fans of the best club in the world,” Bellingham said.
“It’s a pleasure every time I play for this team. Hala Madrid!”

What’s next for Bellingham?
The England international has one more key game to play for Madrid this season: Saturday’s Champions League final against his former club Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
Bellingham left Dortmund for the Spanish capital last summer for a fee of €103million.
After that, Bellingham will have a short break before linking up with the England squad ahead of this summer’s European Championship.
Bellingham will hope to be a key player as Gareth Southgate’s men look to go one better than three years ago when they lost in the final of the Covid-delayed Euro 2020 competition to Italy.
