Hansi Flick was sacked as Germany manager following Saturday’s 4-1 friendly defeat by Japan in Wolfsburg.
He became the first Germany boss to be sacked since the role was created in 1926. Germany had lost four of their past five games, with Flick overseeing just 12 wins in his 25 matches since replacing Joachim Low in August 2021.
After Flick was sacked, a number of names have been tipped to take the role, including Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp has been at Liverpool for nearly eight years now and his future has been speculated on of late.
However, Klopp will not take the vacant Germany men’s national team job, according to his agent.
Klopp has again been linked with the position after Flick’s sacking last weekend, having also been rumoured to take over following Joachim Low’s exit in the summer of 2021:
In April 2022, Klopp signed a new Liverpool deal that will see him remain at Anfield until 2026.
