Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has, late on Saturday, provided an update on the wellbeing of key attacker Darwin Nunez.
Hitman Nunez, of course, took his place centre stage in Liverpool’s latest outing earlier this evening.
This came as the Reds made the trip to St. James’ Park, for a crunch Premier League showdown with Newcastle United.
And, fresh off an encouraging Merseyside Derby downing of Everton earlier in the midweek, Jurgen Klopp’s troops, in turn, went on to make it two wins on the spin.
This came as the aforementioned Nunez’s early opener was quickly added to by Cody Gakpo, en route to an eventual 2-0 result.

As alluded to above, however, on an otherwise fine day’s work for Liverpool on Saturday, one source of concern was also forthcoming on the personnel front.
Ahead of a highly-anticipated Champions League meeting with holders Real Madrid on Tuesday night, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his centre-forward’s wellbeing was put to Jurgen Klopp post-match.
And Liverpool’s boss went on to admit that ‘further assessment’ will be required, with Nunez having picked up ‘something on his shoulder’.
Klopp on Nunez: “Darwin has something on his shoulder. We will have to see. We need further assessment. It’s painful.”
