Juventus defender Dean Huijsen has joined Bournemouth after the clubs agreed an initial fee of £12.8 million for the 19-year-old.
Spain under-21 international Huijsen’s move could rise to £15.3m with add-ons.
West Ham were the only team outside of the relegation zone to concede more goals than the 67 shipped by the Cherries in the top flight last season.

Bournemouth transfer news: Huijsen in
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has made centre-back Huijsen his sixth signing of the summer as he bids to build on a promising first season in charge which resulted in a 12th-placed finish.
Iraola may have been concerned by his side’s defensive record but a run of six wins and two draws from 10 games between February and April will have given him hope of finishing higher in 2024/25.
Huijsen is the second defensive signing of the six Bournemouth have made this summer, joining goalkeeper Alex Paulsen alongside Luis Sinisterra, Enes Unal, Daniel Jebbison and Koby Mottoh.

Born in Amsterdam, Huijsen moved to Spain when he was five but played for the Netherlands until Under-19 level.
A youth-team player at Costa Unida and Malaga, the prospect joined Juventus in 2022 and made his debut last year but that has proven his only senior appearance for the club.

Huijsen scored two goals in 13 appearances after joining Roma on loan for the second half of last season, but Roma’s reluctance to make the move permanent reportedly made Juve more willing to listen to other suitors.
Spain capped Huijsen at youth level for the first time in March, capitalising on him gaining Spanish citizenship this year.
His move to the Vitality Stadium reunites Huijsen with former Roma executive Tiago Pinto, who left the Italian side in January.
Ex-Portugal youth international Pinto joined Bournemouth as Director Of Football Operations in June.
