Harry Kane has travelled to join up with the England squad but is awaiting news on an injury suffered in Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The England captain was forced off in the 72nd minute of the clash in Frankfurt after receiving treatment on his right knee.

Bayern say the 31-year-old travelled to St George’s Park from Frankfurt but is waiting on a “more precise diagnosis”.

A club statement: “Harry Kane, who had to be substituted due to an injury, travelled directly from Frankfurt to the English national team and was examined by the Football Association’s doctors.

“A more precise diagnosis is still pending.”

Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany told reporters post-match: “It’s still too early to say what Kane has. We hope it’s nothing serious.”

It is the second injury worry in a matter of weeks for Kane after he was considered a doubt ahead of their Champions League game against Aston Villa last Wednesday, which they lost 1-0, following an injury against Bayer Leverkusen.

The striker was named in Lee Carsley’s squad to face Greece and Finland, with strikers Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke also selected.

Kane has scored 10 goals in nine appearances for the German giants this season.
