Grealish had a very slow start to 2022/23 that, despite Manchester City scoring goals for fun, saw him produce very little in the way of goal contributions.
In fact, Grealish’s first goal contribution of the season did not come until this past Saturday when he scored in a 3-0 win over Wolves.
Following that game, Kevin De Bruyne has been discussing Grealish and how he needs to adjust to playing for City.
The Belgian, though, was quick to state he is not worried about Grealish and that he just needs some time to settle:
“With all due respect, he was at [Aston] Villa before and if you lose a game sometimes it’s not the end of the world,” De Bruyne said. “But if we lose a game it’s different. We have to perform every week. That is the difference and what he has had to adjust to.
“As long as we win the games and he is doing a good job for us, that is all that matters. Obviously he needed some time to settle in but he is fine. Be patient, I am not too worried.”
