Kylian Mbappe has confirmed he will leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer after seven years with the club.
With the Frenchman’s contract up at the end of the season, the future of this young superstar has been the subject of much speculation for the last 12 months.

Mbappe to Liverpool?
With Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool at the end of the season, there are major doubts over the future of some key players.
One of the doubts is Mohammed Salah. Could the Reds look to replace him with Mbappe? They have been watching him for so long, after all.
Not only that, it is his mum’s favourite team!
The Liverpool talks came back in 2017 when he was still a Monaco player and then again before renewing his contract with PSG two years later.
“I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favorite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her. It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club.”
As much as the Premier League side would love to recruit the Frenchman, the club could not simply afford the sign-on fees and hefty wages that come with such a superstar.
Mbappe’s Announcement in Full
The French superstar’s announcement came as little surprise after so much speculation and marks the conclusion of an incredible career in his home country and the impact he has had on PSG.
He posted a video on his personal account on ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, confirming the news.
“I have always said I would speak with you when the time comes, and so I wanted to announce to you all that it’s my last year at PSG. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks.
It is a lot of emotions. I want to thank all of the teammates I had, all of the coaches, the sports directors and all of the staff at the club. I want to thank the fans above all.
I never thought it would be this difficult to announce I am leaving this team, this country, Ligue 1. I think I needed this new challenge after seven years. The club will remain in my heart forever.”
With the end to the long transfer saga surrounding the 25-year-old almost in sight, it is pretty certain to say he will not be heading to Anfield on a free transfer.
The world of football awaits for his future to be confirmed as it edges closer to being announced he will be joining up with Real Madrid for the 2024/25 season.
