Euro 2024 winner Lamine Yamal leads a 10-man shortlist for the Kopa Trophy that also includes two Manchester United youngsters.
The trophy – awarded to the best global player under the age of 21 in 2024 – will be handed out at the Ballon d’Or ceremony on October 28.
Yamal is the favourite after a remarkable breakthrough season that saw him score 16 goals for Barcelona and then become an integral part of the Spain team that triumphed in Germany.
His Barca team-mate Pau Cubarsi was also nominated, as was another star of Euro 2024, Arda Guler of Real Madrid and Turkey.
United are represented by Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho. Mainoo came from nowhere to become a key cog in the club’s midfield, with his performances earning him a place in the England squad for the Euros.
Garnacho was a part of the Argentina squad that lifted the Copa America in July.
Also nominated were RB Salzburg striker Karim Konate, who scored 20 goals for the Austrian club last season and is a regular in the Ivory Coast squad, Joao Neves who impressed for Benfica before joining Paris Saint-Germain, his PSG team-mate Warren Zaire-Emery, Manchester City’s Brazilian winger Savinho and Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel.
Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham won the award last season.
