Leeds headed into the game staring relegation in the face. They kicked off on 31 points and sat 19th in the table.
The Whites had to win their match and then hope Everton lost and Leicester drew or lost their clash in order to stay up.
Tottenham, meanwhile, were fighting for the Europa Conference League. They sat one point off 7th place Aston Villa with the same goal difference before facing Leeds.
And when all was said and done at Elland Road, Leeds went down but Spurs still missed out on European football.
Tottenham took one minute and 32 seconds to open the scoring after Harry Kane smashed an effort past Joel Robles.
A disastrous start for Leeds! 😱

Leeds came very close to equalising seven minutes in but Robin Koch put a header wide of Forster’s post.
Tottenham went in at the break 1-0 up, which would send Leeds down. And much like in the first half, Tottenham needed just a minute and a half to score after kick-off.
Kane flicked the ball over Cooper’s head before playing through Porro who stuck an effort well from the right of the box.
Leeds pulled a goal back after 67 minutes via Jack Harrison but they still needed another two goals to have a chance of staying up.
And their slim hope of survival lasted just a single minute as Spurs countered and Kane bagged his second of the day.
Lucas Moura made it 4-1 in injury time in what was his final game for Spurs.

Old Trafford has clearly heard the news about Leeds Utd going behind. “Leeds are falling apart again” & “We all hate Leeds scum” being sung now

Forshaw the only player pulling any sort of strings here. #lufc

Poor game up to now. Leeds barely stringing passes together in the Tottenham half. Forster having a quiet afternoon. Spurs looking a threat when they break. #lufc

‘Sell the club and fuck off home’ the chant now.
Radrizzani not here to hear it in person. #lufc
