The efforts of the transfer team at Championship outfit Leeds United have continued to turn heads on Thursday evening.

This comes as the Elland Road brass continue to strengthen the squad at the disposal of boss Daniel Farke in impressive fashion.

The last week alone has seen the Whites reinforced in significant fashion, by way of the arrivals of both Djed Spence, and Joel Piroe.

Evidently, however, amid efforts to secure an immediate return to the Premier League, the feeling in west Yorkshire is that the job remains far from done.

In turn, on Thursday, Leeds have announced a deal for yet another signing.

The latest player through the door at Elland Road? Ilia Gruev.

The eight-time capped Bulgarian international, though, will now continue his career in England, after the Leeds hierarchy agreed to fork over a sum in the region of £5 million to secure his signature.

As per an official statement across the Peacocks’ website and social media platforms:

‘Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of Ilia Gruev from Bundesliga side SV Werder Bremen, subject to international clearance and a work permit.’

Gruev has put pen to paper on a four-year contract, through the summer of 2027.

And the Bulgarian, it would appear, will imminently be joined by yet another engine room addition to Farke’s ranks.

This comes amid widespread reports that Leeds have also struck a deal for Rangers standout Glen Kamara.

Kamara, a former Arsenal academy talent, has long established himself an integral figure in the midfield setup of Scottish giants Rangers.

After Leeds agreed to meet the Gers’ asking price for his services, though, the Finnish international has since travelled to Yorkshire, to undergo a medical.

Sidelined at present, Kamara is nevertheless expected to pass without any issues, ahead of being unveiled as the Whites’ newest player ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
