Supporters of Leeds United have flooded to social media on Sunday evening, to make clear their frustrations with one key contributor to their latest result.
The Whites, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
In their first outing on the back of what felt like a lengthy international break, Jesse Marsch’s troops welcomed Aston Villa to Elland Road, hopeful of building on a solid if unspectacular opening to the campaign at the expense of their underperforming opponents.
When all was said and done, though, the evening’s hosts were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
This came as a hard-fought 90 minutes ultimately gave way to a 0-0 final scoreline in west Yorkshire.
Steven Gerrard’s face says it all…😫

Leeds’ share of the spoils on Sunday only came, though, after the Peacocks’ hopes of a three-point haul were all but ended by referee Stuart Attwell early in the 2nd-half.
And, as alluded, such a development has since left many of a Leeds persuasion absolutely livid with the aforementioned Attwell.
Whilst most appear to agree that Sinisterra’s actions were indefensible, sheer ‘inconsistency’ on the part of the official has been widely highlighted across social media.
This come amid suggestions that Aston Villa’s stars were treated far more leniently across the 90 minutes:
Atwell should be disciplined and banned from being a referee !!!!!

No-one is complaining about the red-card. It’s a yellow card and his second so a red.
What people are moaning at is the fact Bailey did this, kicked the ball away and got nothing.
He’s allowed Villa players to grab him, get in his face and dictate the game.
That’s the problem

The problem is inconsistency from #Atwell

Aston Villa Man of the match today Stuart Attwell with a solid 8/10 in the heart of the Villa midfield.
He was just missing a goal or an assist from his performance today for them.

Deserved that point, played with fight and fully worthy of a draw. Stuart Atwell with one of the single worst refereeing displays ever witnessed. If he never takes charge of a Leeds game again, it’s too soon.
Brighter days ahead and a pleasing cleansheet. Koch-Cooper looks solid— James Marshment (@marshyleeds) October 2, 2022
Ref ruined what could’ve been a cracking game, lost control after 5 mins, the inconsistency was shocking, both teams poor at the moment, seem to have the same issues, no excuse to not put us away with the extra man, watching coutinho live, he’s a baller still.

Was all positive before the game.
Really, really disappointing refereeing display. Absolute effing disgrace.
The inconsistency baffling.
