The father of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi has, late on Friday, provided a fresh insight into his son’s future at club level.

Veteran attacker Messi’s plans beyond the summer have of course long remained unclear, ahead of the expiration of his two-year contract in France’s capital.

PSG, for their part, are known to be keen to lock Messi down for at least one more season, as the Argentine continues to prove himself one of world football’s finest, even at the age of 35.

And yet, speculation has continued to run rampant, regarding the World Cup winner’s potential arrival at a whole host of clubs across world football.

Late on Friday, it has therefore not come as a massive surprise to hear of Messi’s father, Jorge, moving to provide some clarity on his son’s situation.

In a post on his official Instagram account, Jorge Messi shut down a trio of stories to have circulated in the media of late.

Then, that the powers that be at the Parc des Princes have refused to meet his latest contract demands.

And finally, that Messi has asked Al Hilal for a staggering €600 million salary to sign for the Saudi giants.
