Liverpool have had an ok start to the 2023/24 campaign.
They picked up a win over Bournemouth this past weekend despite going a man down and drew with Chelsea on the opening weekend.
But whilst we are only two games into the new campaign, Liverpool already have some injury concerns.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was taken off late in Saturday’s win over Bournemouth as he was limping.
The right-back described his knock as ‘painful’ but is not expected to miss the Newcastle game with the impact injury.
“I hope so,” Klopp replied when asked if Alexander-Arnold will be okay.
Diaz also came off in the final minutes at Anfield on Saturday having received treatment for a knock.
When asked about Diaz post-match, Klopp brushed over the player’s potential injury to suggest there was not much to worry about:
“As long as he was fresh and everything he was obviously super,” he said. “A massive threat for everybody. He is in a good moment, no doubt about it.”
Finally, Thiago is back in training after a hip injury ended his 2022/23 season prematurely but no time frame has been given for a return yet.
