Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered a hamstring injury towards the end of Liverpool’s win over Aston Villa at the weekend.
Scans will determine the 24-year-old’s time out but Jurgen Klopp did claim after the Villa game to have seen the full-back’s departure as a precautionary one:
“I asked him, he said it’s [his] hamstring,” Klopp revealed.
“‘Not too serious’ is his opinion, but we obviously have to wait for the scans and then we will know more.”
Ibrahima Konate missed the win over Aston Villa due to injury. Konate has also pulled out of the France squad due to his hamstring problem.
Didier Deschamps had confirmed plans to assess the player on Monday having initially named him in his 20-man squad but his withdrawal suggests the injury is more serious than people thought.
