Premier League giants Liverpool’s interest in an out-of-favour member of the midfield setup at German champions Bayern Munich has, on Sunday, been confirmed.
The player in question? Ryan Gravenberch.
For those not aware, Gravenberch, a gifted Dutch youth international, was once regarded as one of the finest young talents emerging from the Eredivisie.
Since swapping Ajax for Bayern last year, however, the 20-year-old’s progress has stalled, giving rise to suggestions that the Bavarians could simply cut their losses come the summer.
And Liverpool, it would appear, are ready to take advantage of this situation.
As many of a Reds persuasion will no doubt be aware, word was forthcoming in the media on Saturday that the powers that be at Anfield had ‘stepped up’ their interest in Gravenberch’s signature.
And now, 24 hours on, one of the most reliable sources in England has confirmed that the Merseyside giants have, indeed, kicked efforts to land Gravenberch into gear.
As per David Ornstein of The Athletic:
‘There are reports in the UK that they (Liverpool) have held a meeting in the last week with the representatives of Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich. I am of the understanding that that is correct.’
