European giants AC Milan and Lyon are set to go head-to-head for Chelsea outcast Christian Pulisic, who is free to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, it has emerged.
The USMNT star arrived in England from Borussia Dortmund with massive expectations surrounding him, having impressed during his time in Germany.
However, he has failed to replicate that form in the Premier League, and his 145 appearances for Chelsea have yielded just 26 goals and 21 assists, roughly a contribution every three games.
Injuries have regularly hampered Pulisic’s time in west London, and the arrival of Raheem Sterling and Mykhaylo Mudryk in consecutive transfer windows have seen him fall out of contention under both Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.
As a result, he is one of many expected to leave the Blues this summer, and he is on the radar of both AC Milan and French giants Lyon.

According to the Athletic, the Italian side have tabled a bid worth 14m euros for the 24-year-old. However, the Blues value the man that they paid £50m for higher, and the Rossoneri are expected to come back in with a better offer.
Personal terms are not thought to be an issue for either side, while Chelsea have a good relationship with both clubs thanks to recent transactions.
The Blues allowed Malo Gusto to remain at Lyon for the remainder of the campaign after signing him in January, while they have also negotiated with AC Milan in recent seasons for the sales of Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus Cheek, with the latter making the move just last week.
