Premier League giants Manchester City have struck an agreement on the personal terms of a contract with a chief summer transfer target, according to reports.
The player in question? Josko Gvardiol.
The name of stopper Gvardiol has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the blue half of Manchester ahead of the opening of the summer window.
This comes amid widespread reports that the Croatian has been earmarked as the ideal addition to his defensive ranks by Sky Blues boss Pep Guardiola.
Ahead of the expected departure of Aymeric Laporte, Gvardiol, at just 21, is viewed as possessing both the talent and leadership qualities to act as a stalwart at The Etihad for the coming decade.
And, as alluded to above, on Saturday, City’s chances of landing the RB Leipzig standout have been afforded a boost.
Negotiations, in turn, will soon be kicked into gear between the respective boards at City and Leipzig.
The latter, for their part, remain determined to hold onto the club’s crown jewel, with a hefty €100 million price-tag having therefore been placed on his head.
