Man City star bags Champions League award

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has, on Friday, secured for himself a prestigious individual prize.

City, and Silva, were of course back in action this past Wednesday, welcoming Spanish giants Real Madrid to The Etihad for the 2nd leg of a highly-anticipated Champions League semi-final showdown.

And, after the two clubs could not be separated across 90 minutes in Madrid, this time round, the gulf in class was clear.

The versatile Silva, meanwhile, proved himself the star of the show, kicking an eventual 4-0 rout into gear courtesy of a first-half brace.

And, as alluded to above, this evening, such efforts have seen Man City’s talismanic attacker aptly rewarded.

As confirmed in a post across UEFA’s social media platforms, Silva has been voted the Champions League Player of the Week.

All associated with City, of course, will now be hopeful of Silva producing a similarly brilliant display, when Pep Guardiola’s troops make the trip to Istanbul for next month’s Champions League showpiece meeting with Inter Milan.
