Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has, on Saturday evening, provided an insight into the wellbeing of key defender Raphael Varane.
This, for those who may have missed it, comes after the Frenchman was forced into a premature departure from his side’s latest outing.
United, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
After falling into an alarming early two-goal hole at home to Nottingham Forest, the Red Devils came roaring back, to ultimately emerge on the right side of a 3-2 scoreline.
On an otherwise positive day’s work for Ten Hag and co, however, as alluded to above, one considerable blow was forthcoming on the personnel front.
The blow in question arrived at half-time, when Raphael Varane was unexpectedly hauled off to be replaced by Victor Lindelof.
And the Dutchman went on to reveal that Varane, indeed, was suffering with an unspecified fitness problem.
As of this moment, it remains unclear ‘if it is bad’, ahead of an upcoming round of medical tests over the days ahead.
Erik ten Hag on Varane: “He had complaints. We didn’t want to risk him. I don’t know if it is bad. We have to wait.”
