Supporters of Premier League giants Manchester United have taken to social media in their droves on Sunday evening, to lavish praise on youngster Facundo Pellistri.
This, for those who may have missed it, comes after the Uruguayan impressed once more in pre-season.
Erik ten Hag’s troops were back in action a short time ago, making the trip to Dublin for a meeting with La Liga outfit Athletic Club.
When all was said and done at the Aviva Stadium, United battled their way to a 1-1 stalemate, courtesy of a last-minute equaliser.
And it was that man Pellistri who proved himself the hero, getting on the end of Harry Maguire’s header across goal to direct a fine volleyed finish into the far corner:

Crucial leveller aside, though, it was Pellistri’s overall display which caught the eye of many of a Manchester United persuasion.
In turn, calls have mounted on Sunday evening for Pellistri to be afforded an extended chance to prove his worth, by way of a spot in Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad for the season ahead.
