Premier League giants Manchester United have, on Thursday evening, provided updates on the futures of a number of the club’s stars.

First and foremost comes the latest on the situation of David de Gea.

The subject of shot-stopper De Gea’s future has of course proven a headline talking point on the red half of Manchester for several weeks now.

This comes with the Spaniard’s contract terms due to come to a close in a matter of hours, and an agreement over an extension yet to be reached.

A whole host of potential replacements, in turn, have been outlined in the media, with negotiations between the Red Devils brass and the camp of Inter Milan no.1 Andre Onana understood to be developing positively.

If the latest word coming out of Old Trafford is anything to go by, however, then De Gea’s exit may not yet be a foregone conclusion.

‘David De Gea’s contract is due to run out but discussions remain open with the long-serving keeper.’

Elsewhere, updates have also been provided on both Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst.

Midfielder Sabitzer and frontman Weghorst, of course, spent the 2nd half of the campaign plying their trade on loan at Old Trafford.

And though the latter largely failed in efforts to impress boss Erik ten Hag, Sabitzer’s performances had given rise to speculation that his United stint could be made a permanent one this summer.

As much, however, now appears to have been ruled out:

‘In terms of incoming loans at United, Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst are due to return to Bayern Munich and Burnley, respectively,’ the Reds’ statement added.
