Morocco full-back Noussair Mazraoui has been handed his Manchester United debut just three days after signing for his former Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag.

The 26-year-old started at right-back in the season-opener against Fulham, with Diogo Dalot switching to left-back in the absence of Luke Shaw with a calf injury.

Harry Maguire is fit to start alongside Lisandro Martinez, having missed the end of last season and the Euros through injury.

In the absence of a front-line striker Marcus Rashford is set to share the false nine duties with Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount.

Summer signings Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee are among the United substitutes but there is no place for Jadon Sancho at all amid continued speculation that he will leave Old Trafford before the transfer deadline on August 30.

United XI: Onana; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Mazraoui; Casemiro, Mainoo; Diallo, Fernandes, Mount; Rashford.

Subs: Bayindir, De Ligt, Zirkzee, Eriksen, Garnacho, Antony, Evans, McTominay, Collyer.

Fulham’s new arrival from Arsenal Emile Smith Rowe is handed his first start, though Spanish defender Jorge Cuenca is on the bench after his arrival from Villareal and former United youngster Josh King is also a substitute.

Fulham XI: Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Adama; Iwobi, Pereira, Smith Rowe; Muniz.

Subs: Benda, Reed, Jimenez, Wilson, Cairney, Cuenca, Castagne, King, Stansfield.
