Premier League giants Manchester United have identified a fresh face in their efforts to reinforce the club’s ranks between the post.
The player in question? Odisseas Vlachodimos.
It is of course common knowledge that the powers that be on the red half of Manchester remain on the lookout for a new goalkeeper.
This comes with United, to this point in the summer, having brought in just one new shot-stopping option, in the form of Andre Onana.
With Dean Henderson primed to follow David de Gea out the door at any moment, a backup for the big-money Onana, in turn, is still being sought.
A whole host of options have been rumoured as being on the wishlist of Erik ten Hag and co, from Zion Suzuki to Altay Bayindir.
As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano:
‘Manchester United [are] now exploring [a] move for Odisseas Vlachodimos, who’s expected to leave Benfica.’
Vlachodimos, a 29-year-old Greek international, is said to have made his way to the ‘top of Man Utd’s list’, as backup for the aforementioned Onana.
Dean Henderson, meanwhile, is inching ever closer to a move to Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace.
