Match report
In-form Manchester City made predictably short work of Leicester City on Saturday, to close the gap ever further to Premier League table-toppers Arsenal.
The Sky Blues, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
Fresh off a scintillating three-goal downing of Bayern Munich in the Champions League’s quarter-finals in midweek, Pep Guardiola’s troops turned their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in a meeting with the aforementioned Leicester.
And, within the opening 25 minutes at The Etihad, the outcome was as good as decided.
Kicking the day’s scoring into gear was John Stones, who continued his fine stretch of individual form in driving a left-footed effort home from the edge of the visitors’ penalty area:

Erling Haaland then added his customary goal of the day from the penalty spot a short time later, before doubling his tally courtesy of a fine dinked finish, after being set free by Kevin De Bruyne:

This opened the door for Kelechi Iheanacho to slot home a close-range consolation fifteen minutes from time, but the result was long decided, as the evening’s hosts emerged comfortable 3-1 victors.

I’ll never forgive this bald bastard for making De Bruyne and Haaland play together, how are we allowing this criminal roam freely like this

I’m worried as an Arsenal fan … I always suspected City to win today..but the reality, with a game in hand …is scary stuff

James Maddison is like Nelson playing quarterback on Homer’s team.
He has to pass a through ball and sprint up to meet it for Leicester to have any chance of doing anything.

John Stones, best English football player at the moment?

John Stones, wow. Ridiculous strike.
Bloke’s scoring weak foot half volleys from outside of the box 😂
Said it last game, will say it again — the most complete centre-back of the modern era.

Leicester are absolutely embarrassing. Get Maddison and Barnes out of that club
