Manchester City international round-up: Game one

Manchester City have 14 senior players on international duty this month. 101GreatGoals takes a look at how all 14 got one during the first set of matches.

Kalvin Phillips – Kalvin Phillips was an unused substitute as England drew 1-1 with Ukraine in a Euro 2024 qualifier.

Kyle Walker – With Reece James and Trent Alexander-Arnold injured, Kyle Walker got the nod over Kieran Trippier vs Ukraine. He played 90 minutes and scored the Three Lions’ only goal.

Phil Foden – Gareth Southgate continues to not start Phil Foden for England, with the winger coming off the bench in the 65th minute, having 13 touches and 100 per cent passing accuracy.

Jeremy Doku – Doku came off the bench to play 24 minutes for Belgium’s 1-0 win vs Azerbaijan. He had one shot and completed two dribbles.

Bernardo Silva – Bernardo Silva played 90 minutes for Portugal as they beat Slovakia 1-0. Bruno Fernandes scored the goal, with Silva providing the assist.

Nathan Ake – Nathan Ake played 45 minutes for the Netherlands in a 3-0 win over Greece. He made three clearances and one tackle before being taken off at half-time.

Josko Gvardiol – Gvardiol had a quiet 45 minutes for Croatia as they beat Latvia 5-0. He made one interception and won two ground duels.

Mateo Kovacic – Kovacic was an unused sub vs Latvia.

Rodri – Rodri played 72 minutes in Spain’s 7-1 hammering of Georgia. He completed 98 of his 104 passes and also made three key passes.

Erling Haaland – Haaland was an unused sub in Norway’s 6-0 win over Jordan.

Manuel Akanji – Switzerland drew 2-2 with Kosovo. Akanji played 90 minutes making four clearances,  one block, two interceptions and three tackles.

Julian Alvarez – Alvarez played 13 minutes vs Ecuador, having no shots and 13 touches.

Ederson – Ederson played 90 minutes as Brazil dominated Bolivia but was unable to keep a clean sheet as his side won 5-1.
